Randall Hickman and Douglas Davis Owners / Vista’s Broadway Theaters Randall and Doug have been San Diego residents for 23 years and have starred on most of the county’s stages including the Lawrence Welk Resort and Moonlight Amphitheatre. Their acting awards and nominations include, Dramalogue, Patte, Aubrey, San Diego Critics, Stage Scene L.A., C.A.S.T. and Robbi awards. Most recently the duo was nominated for the prestigious San Diego Critics Award for their performances in Moonlight Amphitheater’s 2011 production of HAIRSPRAY. In 1992 the duo created their youth company, PREMIERE FOR KIDS. Twenty years later they are thrilled to see so many of their former students performing all over the world, and being featured regularly in TV and film roles. In June of 2004, the duo opened their first theater, THE BROADWAY. In September of 2007 they opened their second theater, THE OFF BROADWAY, San Diego County’s only theater built exclusively for youth productions. In the short time the two theaters have been in operation, critics have embraced the stages with awards and accolades, including the KGTV A-LIST AWARD for BEST THEATER IN SAN DIEGO for 2007 and 2008, and second place in 2010. While awards are nice, it’s the support of the theater-going-public the duo owe their biggest thanks. At a time when theaters are closing all over the country the BROADWAY and OFF BROADWAY THEATERS enjoy a 95.7% sell-out ratio. Never one to sit on their laurels, in March of 2012, the duo embark on a new theatrical journey - producing a mini-season of three shows per year at the Lawrence Welk Resort Theater in Escondido, Ca. Katie Gonzales - Manager, The Broadway Theater Katie has been managing the Broadway Theater for five years. She started as a student with Premiere for Kids and made her Broadway Theater acting debut on the Broadway stage in our 2007 production of Blithe Spirit. She has since appeared in many Broadway Theater productions. Katie’s youth theater directing credits include; 101 Dalmatians, Cinderella; If the shoe fits and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory at the Off-Broadway Theater. Jacob Silva - Manager, The Off Broadway Theater Jacob began his career with Randall and Doug’s theater company at the age of 8 years old. After graduating from UCLA’s musical theater program, Jacob jumped at the chance to manage the OFF BROADWAY. Since he took over managerial duties in August of 2009, Jacob has directed many productions for the company including Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Babes in Toyland, Pooh, Beauty and the Beast to name a few. Jacob is also an accomplished actor and is a ‘fan favorite’ on all of our stages. Myles Vencill - Manager, Premiere Productions at the Welk Resort A recent graduate from San Francisco State, Myles returns to Southern California. Before he left for school, he managed our Youth Theater for two years, (2007 –2009), and was an iatrical part of its construction. Myles will manage our adult company, Premiere Productions, whenever we are in the Welk or Avo Theaters. An accomplished actor and director, his credits include; The Barber of Seville, High Fidelity-the Musical, The Wizard of Oz, Once Upon a Mattress, Sideways, Stop Kiss, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and101 Dalmatians. |

No other theater company in this country does as many workshops and shows per year as we do. In 2011 we staged 45… and we do it all with only five people on staff. What? That’s MADNESS! How is this possible? Well, over the years we have learned the importance of ‘streamlining’ and ‘consolidation’ while keeping our quality high. How do we do this? We have found that the fewer people you have working on a project the better the communication. In other words: The right hand ALWAYS knows what the left is doing. Meet my amazing staff... |
